Well thanks.
Managed to get out on it a few times last week, and it seems like a really nice bit of kit.
Light weight, durable and nice to ride.

So far so good Smile

Yeah, im getting to see that, taken it on one or two long trail rides, some red route's and the odd DH sections, it seem to be holding up just fine.

The wide bars offer a really nice riding position and the forks work great along with such a light frame.

Yeah , wide bars are my next upgrade. I've currently done the forks , crankset and saddle as they were the main downers to the bike , and i would be doing the wheelset and a bit more but im growing out of it and im upgrading later this year. I do love my Hardrock though , its great !

I'm just wondering what the maximum width of tyre people have on the rear of their hardrocks?? I'm ordering tyres off the Internet, 2.4s & I don't wana order them, wait for them to be deliverd, then be sending them back cos they rub on the frame??

Some company's have wider tires than other. Depends. For example, a maxxis 2.5 runs much closer to a 2.3. On a bike like the Hardrock I would be hard pressed to run anything wider than a 2.3 in the back. Either way, the frames are pretty damn flexy.

I would probably stick to a 2.3 in the front and a 2.1 in the back. You want the bigger tire in the front for cornering and the skinnier tire in the rear for minimizing rolling resistance.

Heres a few updated pics of mine. Took them today after a strip down , clean and regrease/lube. Its a 2012 Specialized Hardrock Sport Disc with the following upgrades: Rockshox XC32TK forks with PopLoc , Shimano Deore M590 Hollowtech II crankset and BB , Shimano Deore XT M772 Shadow rear mech , Specialized Henge SL carbon/titanium saddle , Wellgo V8 copy pedals , eXotic Cubic lock on grips , Shimano rear hub. Spent around £800 on it , great for XC and all day rides. Very fast bike . Looking at some new bars for it.

Here it is:

Just rebuilt mine. 2006? singlespeed model with horizontal dropouts.32/16 gearing. Argyle 302's. FUNN rear wheel. Raceface cranks. Avid BB7's. Downhill tires and tubes. Solid as a rock. Ridden this thing at Snowshoe, Northstar, and Bootleg Canyon among others. Did the Downieville Downhill and the Downieville Uphill too. Been riding for a long time and ridden a few awesome bikes and this bike has a special place in my heart.
