that kona reminds me of one of those fat guys with tiny heads. e-mtbs really need 50mm diameter bars, 3" steerer tubes and 50mm stanchions to balance that out. or little fairings like dirt bikes have to balance out that huge down tube.

Video: Dylan Tremblay Tuning, Shredding, & Selling a Classic 2003 Specialized Hardrock
I had 2 hardrocks with that frame design. The black with ghost flames and a blue singlespeed with horizontal dropouts. Had tons of fun on both doing all kinds of riding including bike parks. To me they were the poor man's version of the P1. For around $500 out the door you got workable components and a great frame to customize. Long live the hardrock!

Hard MTB League Announces $100K Prize Purse for 2026
Good luck to the organizers and racers. The sport has always benefited from innovators and risk takers. The short courses, the format of the competition, and even the way the courses are built make this feel, I don't know like artificial and contrived like it is better suited to fantasy sports fans or something, it doesn't give an adventurous, raw, dirty, slightly menacing "anything can happen" feeling that I've always associated with MTB.

@deeeight: that iteration of the hard rock was drastically different from previous years, it had the frame reminiscent of the old P bikes, marzocchi fork and disc brakes not mention ghost flames that made it look like a real ripper not just a bike to derp around on
