I just bought a used 2019 meta and I plan to use it for both enduro and dh races. I was wondering if the meta would be able to take a dual crown. With a 170 fork in the front, I was thinking a 180mm boxxer fork wouldn't change the geometry too much, but is the frame strong enough for it is what I'm wondering.
Hey guys, I own a 2018 COMMENCAL META AM V4.2 size XL and I'm looking to buy some better brakes. Does anyone know if the Formula Cura 4s fit on the frame? I was going to buy maguras but they are not compatible with the frame. Also open to any recommendations, in the $300 range (front and rear).
Maguras are fine, you'll just need a 203 rotors in the back with the right adapter (like the Hope C adapter, or similar other models that offset the caliper and not just elevate/rotate it)
On the V4.2, even a caliper as big as a Hope V4 fits (installed that on a friend's V4.2 3 or 4 years ago, after the brakes were installed on my V4), so you have plenty of choice as to which brakes to buy and put on.
My boy doing a build on meta v3 2016 he needs a crank set what fits thanks all
As far as I know they didn't change the spec for 2016 from earlier on - BB92 standard. Quite a few BB cups are too deep though and might need trimmed, there have been some other posts that you might find by Googling (can't remember if they were on PB or another forum). The BB shell isn't cylindrical all the way through so it can stop the cups from being fully pushed in, and for the same reason you can't run 30mm dia spindle cranks.
Hope this was some help - any other questions, feel free to ask!
Hope bb92 cups fit the v4 meta. I’ve got those and hope cranks with 30mm spindles. Personally if I was starting again I’d spec smaller spindal cranks so you can use a bb92 that screw together and help reduce creaking
