That's very plausible, do you know if this guy is stupid or not?

Never seen him on forums or about before, nothing to suggest he's stupid, just uninformed about this shock.

read up on this stuff it has good advice and step[ by steps on rebuilding these. It also shows pictorial breakdowns which should give you an idea as to whether or not anything is missing.

I'm in the process of setting up my RC4. At a 400lbs spring rate, i get the right amount of sag (30%) but I can't bottom out hard, even dropping to flat. It reaches the end of the stroke, just not noticeably. Do i need to go down a spring rate?

Friend wants to get new clipless pedals. He wanted Egg Beaters, but I told him no, as his SPD cleats wouldn't work with them. so I recommended him some Deore XT pedals and other slightly cheaper Shimano ones.

I don't know too much about clipless and neither does he. Any other recommendations?

Most pedals will come with the cleats.

I have never seen pedals come without cleats and I work at a bike shop?

The only way a cleat would matter is if he spent hundreds of dollars getting custom ti cleats cnc machined or anodized.

Trying to remember what (I think Spiceymike) said regarding shock tune calculation. Wheel Travel divided by blah blah blah to determine low/mid/high tune...awe geeeeze. I was going to try and determine an ideal short shock tune for a near future purchase....
