thank you much Hombre3000!

i was glad the grips showed as much of the carbon fiber as they do.

i reweighed with everything and it weighed in at 27lbs not 26, still happy since it is a budget build.

Nope, I didn't, because it's not my bike. I was posting those photos for someone else.

It's a factory tensioner. There are lots of tensioners out there that do that. My favorite is the Surly Singleator, which works as either a push-up or a pull-down.

Agreed, but I like handmade ghetto ones best! Plus the surly ones are derailer expensive!

I was put off the Surly one after a mate had one and it gave him crap, so I was rather taken with the Gusset bikes equivalent that is simply a rigid arm that you fix to using a bolt through the hanger eyelet jobber. It can push up or down and it seems to be working thus far...

hehe that chain tensioner was cheap, works so far, i'll know how happy i am with my cheap decision once we get some decent weather and i get her on a trail.

I was running the Surly one for a summer, worked great until the arm snapped Confused homemade sounds like the way to go

This is soon to be my newest mtb, its gonna be single speed and rigid. Its a 1994 Alan, carbon main frame aluminium lugs and rear triangle (so i'm set for a bit of butt munching from the rear end).

Built it up at work yesterday. The ride feels much nicer than the alu frame I was riding before. New wheels are in the pipeline, probably one of the hope pre-built wheelset's.
