2004 V-10. I'd go as far as to say the second gen V-10 is also old school. I suppose it's also a matter of perspective, as I got into riding around 2003/04 or so.
The fork is old school, but not that frame. Perhaps is one of the oldest of the new school which started with the massification of the VPP (not only prototypes) and the development of new suspension platforms.

Then I suppose we shall disagree. That frame is pretty old school.

Bare in mind someone who's 60 and was riding in the 80s would look at our thread and say NOTHING in it is old school. Don't be that dude. This is a thread for appreciating old DH bikes that are rad, and at the end of the day, that bike fits.

Well, about that V10, Old school fans, and collectors we consider it too new.
But going to your point, is good to appreciate old bikes, but that awesome foes mono 2:1 is still too new to be considered old school. For sure will fit in the category of Drop machines.

I'm not advocating for the Mono, I was just making a point there's no arbitrary cut off year of 2003. There isn't. Been a contributor to this thread since it started, and I'm going to continue posting bikes like that Santa Cruz, as it seems most people enjoy shit like that, and it's what's been posted already. I'd go as far as to say a nicely retro built M3 or the like belongs here.

Quoted from page three. Nobody complaining about it. The previous page (PAGE TWO) also had an 04 Norco Atomik, and was posted in 2009. Five years.

Think we're done with this topic. Cheers.

I remember the PB article last year on the bikes at the opening day of Whistler, 2013. The article almost made fun of the RMX.

That one I posted just seems so boxy and square compared to the smooth curves that appeared afterwards. To me then it just looked so old-school.

the 99, do the dropouts from the 02 fit it? I just bought an 02 (I think, looks exact same as the yellow one) as a donor frame for the hub and dropouts so I can run rear disk on my 99 (good frame not cracked like the 02)

Don't really think they made fun of him there, but I do love how the budget stinky gets like, four words. Nice one PB.

My favorite is when they shit all over E-bikes, then review and E-bike and say it's say too much fun and they loved it.

There's no calling those things new school. Just doesn't make sense. Geo was still tall and upright, tracks were still flat out and manly, Rob Warner still had a career that involved riding.

Yeah I'd say it's pretty old school!

I love the grasshopper legs linkage.

I like the -99 version, but the -02 version is just awesome.
They ride great too, I had a friend who had one of those back in the day.

I did a bit of measuring and I think they might.
