So if the Slash goes to a Super Enduro 170mm+ Travel I may go for a Fuel Ex which probably will then be the new Slash and also gets a bit more travel Eek 150mm Front and 140mm rear would be enough for me...

Rumor has it that a 29er Remedy is in the works, basically a Slash with less plow like geo. Honestly I'm pretty excited about that possibility, and maybe even a mullet set up.

That sounds interesting, beside of a mullet set up. As I pedal almost everything, also on the Slash now I think it has more negative than positive effects for me. I think the Slash is already very playful and agile, also in size XL for me.

This is an australian shop, the price isn't in US dollars. So the price of the 2021 remedy 8 is still the same than the 2020 model.
Still got the XR4 tyre in the rear though.....would have been way better with SE4 or SE5 tyres. At least, they put some Code R brakes instead of the usual crappy guide R.

Could it be that the old Remedy had a tire clearance about 2.6 and the new is 2.8.

So its a 27.5" + bike that would fit 29" wheels?

The previous remedy could clear 2.8 for Sure.

Current remedy has a lot of frame clearance but will not fit a 29x2.4 wheel without rubbing under flex (I have one in there now just for storage while the Remedy's back wheel is in a mullet set up on my Fuel EX).

Will the current trek slash 9.8 be discounted once the new slash comes out? I'm thinking of buying the current slash 9.8 for $6000 AUD

Normally there is two possible scenarios when a new model year appears:

A) the old one will be discounted
B) the old one is already sold out

Fox 38 and standard DPX2 on the new Remedy 9.8, looks like the thru shaft and re:aktiv valve might be gone for the longer travel bikes.

My math might be wrong but that would put the tag a bit below 5000€, which is along the usual prices for a Trek with that build kit ( GX, FOX Elite ). The only thing one may not like is that quite cheerless colour.

Unfortunately this post should be titled TREK SLASH 2022?

Usual model updates or new models is middle of summer for Trek, i.e. 2021 models already starting to come out and there is NO NEW SLASH this season. Wait until next year for the 2022 update...one season overdue.

This guy might had seen da future....

Actually bikes retain their value from my experience.

Maybe save but to the tune of maximum 200 on 6k and more bikes.

Its completelly and utterly a waste of time to wait for a discount thinking that the new one will cause this.

They handle the release in a way that their prwvius bike worth is still high

Maybeeeee doable but it compromises geometry and etc.

A mullet has to be desgined for it in order for it to be at its best fron what i understand

Check Casey Brown’s insta, Trek sponsored rider running a 170mm 29” Rockshox Zeb on a ‘secret’ bike. New Slash confirmed surely.
