So sad they destroyed the Airline and the massive drop. IMO it was better before.

Looks great. I'm not going until August so I expect it will all be knackered by the time I get there

Can anyone recommend a decent, dependable weather forecast for Morzine?

XC weather, BBC, Accu all seem to show different forecasts.

O+

Was out there last week and had been tracking the weather before going out - none of them were really that accurate unfortunately... BBC was probably the closest to what we saw though

There is no accurate weather forecast in the mountains dude

If they predict it will be sunny and dry it probably will, but if they predict rain at a certain time - it may come at a completely different time or not at all. Last year we were predicted rain 4 days in a row and it never came until the 5th day

Generally looking up at the sky is a pretty decent one - and if the forecast looks like there might be serious rain probably stay close-ish to your accomodation - probably not the right day to ride out to Chatel or something. Otherwise it's probably worth just cracking on because we could have wasted our whole holiday last time in fear of rain - but the rain never came.

Hi there, will be flying to Geneva, is there another option than the AlpyBus to go to Morzine, without take a private transfer?

There are loads of shuttle companies if you have a Google. I've used Alpybus and Skiddy Gonzalez before.

Can anyone recommend a good company to go tandem paragliding with? Going over with family and no bike this year so looking for other activities to try.

Is anyone here going to Les Gets WC 2023? I'm currently in Dijon, FR and planning to take a train, but I'm happy to pitch in if someone is driving.

Who are people using for single trip insurance nowadays? I've heard bad reports re. Snowcard and DogTag being owned by Allianz and being a nightmare to claim from now.

Pedal cover, do it last year, taking out annual this year. Snowcard go too expensive.

I've used Yellow Jersey the last couple of times I've been out.

I have found the prices to be reasonable (cheaper than other places) and I've been encouraged by the fact they specifically talk about uplift downhill in the alps their marketing copy

https://www.yellowjersey.co.uk/mountain-bike-travel-insurance/

bigquotesMost UK travellers know they need to get specialist winter sports cover if they are skiing or snowboarding on holiday. Downhill sports come with big risks compared to a family beach holiday, and the areas where these sports are popular rarely have public hospitals.

Mountain biking holidays are no different. We’re travelling to resorts in the Alps where there are no public hospitals, and we’re participating in sports where there is a reasonable chance of injury. This is why mountain biking is excluded from almost all travel insurance policies. And while downhill mountain biking in the Alps is probably the extreme end of the spectrum, even some gentle cross-country mountain biking with the family is likely excluded from your usual travel insurance policy.

We’ve made travel insurance for cycling (including mountain biking) simple. Whether you’re planning a few days mountain biking with the family or a week of full-on downhill with your mates, you can purchase our mountain bike travel insurance with complete confidence that we have you covered. Our mountain bike travel insurance covers you for emergency medical expenses, repatriation to the UK and trip cancellation, plus all the features you’d expect from a standard, high-street travel insurance.

You can insure your bike with them as well, which is probably sensible. If your bike falls off the chairlift, or your accommodation gets broken into that's a lot of money you aren't getting back otherwise.

I've never had to claim on it (touch wood) so I can't speak of how it is to claim.

Yellow Jersey or InsureandGo (adding hazardous activities cover)
