I have copied the idea from another forum but I thought it would be a good idea to have a single thread where we can write about the rides we did today.

Basically, it's like a log to report what your ride was like.

Here's a Template, if you want to copy it and other can copy the above and edit to their details....

Route: e.g Kettering-Loddington-Mawsley-Kettering

Total Miles/Kilometres:

Weather Condition:

Total Time:

Average Speed: (If you own a computer on your bike)

I will fill mine in next time I go for a ride.

Not bad. Faster than me I bet anyway. I reckon my average speed on my 15 miler is 12mph.

I need to up my distance soon and man the f*ck up. Probably will try 100km/60miles in a few weeks too.

Haha, my bike helps, it must be harder on a single speed anyway. I just maintain momentum on B roads at around 20mph and try to keep that pace apart from when going uphill, and go as fast as possible downhill.

It is, I ride the Viking on a ghetto single speed and it's average speed. I'll still record my rides though. I might just stick on a 16t cog so I can go faster, but contemplating what to do at the moment.

So... is this supposed to be like Strava but manual?

Yeah, basically a thread to log your rides. If it ends up a dead thread, it's cool. Just saw it on another forum and thought it was a pretty good idea.

Just got Strava on my iPhone, seriously helpful app.

Yeah, its such a huge benefit... got the velonews or somebody 'tech invention of the year' award this year. Really cool too if you have a HR monitor and a paid subscription so you get 'suffer scores'. Hit me up on there...

Only 37.2mph actually... just hammerin' in a two up paceline with my buddy.

Edit - Correction, I just looked and the 37.2 actually came on a slight DH toward the end. 35.7mph was my top speed under power.

Wow your roads look so flat and straight :o

http://www.cycle-route.com/Cycle-Route-Planner-Pending/astjohnbond%40gmail.com/22235/ This is my usual route, it's not on Google maps yet as I haven't ridden it with Strava but you get the idea. Much windier and hillier.

Doubt I'll be able to hit that speed for a while, only on hills lol

Single speed should beef me up though and get me into shape.
