I was at work, 10:30am the rain was utter shit, I was changing a 2 set of 11R22.5's on a tanker truck....laying in two inches of water.

Was not impressed.

Why were you laying in the water if you were changing tires?

It's a 20min job to change tires on rigs.

Try a two or three piece Dayton wheel. Lets see you do that in 20 minutes...

In other news...

Cobalt SS seats for the truck.

Already looking for upgrades with my cummins turbo diesel.

I'll be building it from the ground up. Mostly stock with a few things I would like to change:

Intake, cold air intake with ramair, upgraded intercooler, clutch, and injectors.
Going with a Bosch p7100 pump as well

Been doing some homework

Intake:

Cold Air:
Home made boxed with a K&N filter.
Something like this, if not...this.

Numbers from companies are numbers, but I've seen some videos of this shit in action, Im sold!

Any opinions on parts posted and injectors?

FRAM is not a good brand. I remember someone explaining to me in great detail as to why, but of course now that I go to try and remember what they said I just can't. So here I am looking like an idiot who makes bold statements with no way to back them up.

I'll just shut up now.

I thought so for the longest time too, but that was all anti-marketing hype.

It was a $10.00 filter.

What would you recommend instead of a fram?

Posted: May 5, 2012 at 10:24 Quote
Fleetguard, WIX, Donaldson, NAPA, etc. Anything but FRAM for the love of god, lol.

Cool project. Just don't turn it into a "I put a diesel in just to make smoke" kind of rig. Gives everything with a serious passion for performance diesels a bad reputation and will lead to the demise of the performance diesel industry.

My family has been using Mopar filters (made by Kralinator) for years.

I'll do some research on oil filters tonight and see what suits my needs best.

Nah man, putting a diesel in it to haul a horse trailer for showing and cause I like the fuel economy.
Many underlying reasons why I am doing what I'm doing. tup

*edit*

I'm going to go with the Shell Rotella 5w-40 oil and and amsoil filter or wix 51607 (napa gold 1607) filter if I can not get a wix.

SO why is fram bad? wanna explain?

People for years said Fram had poor anti-drainback valves, poor strength casings, or insufficient filter medium.

No laboratory testing has verified this.
