Interested to hear about anyone using imperial size shocks on a 2019 yt capra comp 27.5. Having a hella of a time finding a coil in 250x70 or 75mm right now. Everyone seems sold out.

Will a 9.5x3.0 work or is that 0.340" going to cause clearance issues? Was thinking of using offset bushings to theoretically make the shock longer.

Some 250 x 70 available in the UK. Maybe can get them posted to Canada? I bet there is a 5mm stroke reducer in the damper, which can be removed to make it 75mm stroke.

Tearing apart my bike and prepping it for next season. Does anyone have the bearing numbers for a 2019 capra al? I emailed YT and can't find it anywhere on the net. I dont wanna buy an enduro kit at a premium either when I can order from local wholesaler.

I looked around and could only find the headtube sizes, which is rather frustrating. If you end up finding them, can you post them here? I'd be interested.

Here we go, couldn't pull the e13 bb numbers yet but

You'll need

2x 6804 RS
3x 6803 RS
2x 6900 RS
4x 6801 RS

That takes care of all the pivots for a 2019 Capra

Hi Guys,

Just wondering why the capra elite and pro race have a weight difference of 1.3kg (14.9kg vs 13.6kg)?
I know the 38's are heavier but not that heavier. There might be some in the tryes I dont know.
What do you reckon?
Any weighed either in XL?
Dont know which one to choose.
I really like the stated 13.6 of the Pro Race. But know ill be near 14 on an XL.
Thanks

Ok, sweet, thanks!
I can't say I have plans to replace them anytime soon, but it's good to know!

I don't normally post here, but I feel that I have to inform everyone of how appallingly bad the level of service is with YT industries (also build quality / Quality Control) as no doubt many of you are aware of.

I ordered and paid for some replacement Horst link Bolts for my Capra CF, and after numerous excuses about system issues communication problems, Pandemic etc. - generally being fobbed off with excuses. 2 months later, I am still waiting. I can only assume that they are waiting for these parts to form naturally from minerals within the ground

99.9% of the time I ever dial the UK Surrey Hills office, they have not answered. Either the phone just rings out, or they are engaged permanently - almost as if they just deliberately leave the phone off the hook and have zero hour members of staff doing zero hours.

In short, if you are thinking of spending a good chunk of your hard earned money on a YT bike - dont. The overall quality of their products is generally rubbish. Tolerances looser than a retired pornstar's nether regions and after sales support in resolving anything is akin to watching dry paint become wet again.

Sorry to hear your CS experience is so poor. As a contrast, here in the U.S. I've gotten an answer every time I've ever called them. Part orders have shipped promptly and correctly, and both bikes I've purchased have arrived within a week of order. Zero complaints.

As far as you not being able to get replacement bolts, that would indeed be frustrating. It very likely is pandemic related, but frustrating none-the-less. I'd recommend trying to source them from the U.S. distributor.

Now about your recommendation to avoid YT bikes completely and condemn their quality as "rubbish"...well that's just silly talk and doesn't help your cause. Many manufacturers are experiencing shortages right now in the world, not just YT. It's ok to be frustrated, but thinking everyone is going to lose faith in their YT's just because you can't find a bolt? Really?

The weight listed for the Pro Race 29 is size S. The weight listed for the Elite 29 is size M. That's likely most of the difference. The 38 fork also adds over 200 grams. The bigger rear cassette and longer derailleur on the Elite likely add a bit of weight as well, however, the Maxxis tires on the Elite actually weigh less than the e*13's on the PR and the new fox transfer post on the Elite is lighter than the older version on the PR too.

My new Pro Race in XL set up tubeless and no pedals but with Maxxis tires rather than the stock e*13s is about 31.5 lbs/14.2 kg.

I'd pick the model you like the features of best rather than listed weights.

If you want a light bike, don’t get a Capra.
If you want a bike with excellent after sales support, buy a Santa Cruz. You’ll get your bolts the next day... but you will pay a hefty price for that convenience.

fwiw- A Santa Cruz Nomad with nearly the same Fox factory / Sram XO1 / carbon wheel build costs $3000 more than a Capra Pro Race yet weighs the same.

I ordered spare shock bolts, bearings, o-rings, and a hanger from YT U.S. and got them in less than a week.

I’m all about YT. Yeah you don’t get the SC finish quality quite, but in terms of bang for buck it’s a pretty unbeatable brand even after they raised all their prices over the years. Can’t wait to see what drops in Jan!

Correction - they can't find the bolt. There's a difference.
