Hello people!

I'm from the US and am looking to go somewhere warm for a few months this winter to escape the -40 F temps and snow we get here. I primarily ride DH and I'm just trying to figure out where is the best place for me to spend the winter (January-April or so) to get the best DH race training, so shuttles and chairlifts are ideal!

Thanks!

Queenstown. Australia has some decent DH but it doesn't compare to NZ.

Mt biking hasn't really been embraced by the wider community in Oz as it has in NZ. whole regions like Queenstown and Rotorua are on the international map, offering shuttle/lift options most (but maybe not all) days.

while we're getting more centres, they involve a bit of travel, are XC-AM in nature and not many offer a decent shuttle/lift window outside weekends and school holidays.

put it this way - its perfectly acceptable for Aussies to travel to NZ for bike trips
