@High-Life: it's pretty easy to get a sub 34lb trail bike, it's just that most people are not weight weenies so they're ok with riding something a bit heavier that won't break.

Nah that track is 100% Downcountry. Relatively smooth descending at the start and finish and some decent pedalling in the middle.
