I'm thinking of buying an NS Decade frame and a Manitou Circus. I'm pretty new to MTB and don't know whats good and bad. I've found pretty much everything that suits my budget besides wheels. Anyone know a wheelset for Dirt Jumping that is around $100-$150? Thanks in advance!

The Circus Expert is on sale right now, so that might help your budget.

Azonic Outlaw wheelset, or maybe NS Fundamental:

Complete Halo DJD rear wheel:

good point. if he doesn't mind running straight 1 1/8", he can still put it in a tapered-headtube frame. i did it on my NS Surge Evo.

When you use this conversion kit are you supposed to use a tapered headset or a straight? sorry for my bad knowledge...

octane one makes a wheelset that routinely goes on sale for just under 200 bucks on chain reaction

The bottom bearing has to be the wider diameter to fit in the frame. The adapter basically just widens the crown area where the bearing sits. You're converting a straight-steerer 1 1/8" fork to being a 1 1/8" to 1.5".

I'm not specifically telling you to get that one I linked to. I was just pointing out that adapters exist. Check for yourself:

1 1/8" Fork in a tapered headtube (How to?)

Is this the wheelset you're referring to?

yup. don't expect them to be the best wheelset ever but for the price they seem pretty solid

....seems like with a healthy $1800 budget, a little more than $200 would be set aside on a wheelset. Wheels are 1 of the main componets that can make or break a ride.

....just my .02

I would agree but he asked for wheels below 200 bucks

Ill rethink what my money is on and what I can save on. Thanks for the help everyone! (:

If you don't already have some decent parts to start with then just buy a complete bike. you won't get more value any other way.

I would not go with a new bike for that price. you can get a used with far superior parts for way less cash.
