Solid state bearings?

I’ve just discovered that one of the main pivot bearings on my 2017 Jeffsy is on its way out after 11 months use.

I’m looking at solid state bearings as a replacement. Has anyone got any experience with using these on suspension pivots?

I have never heard of a "solid state bearing" and I am a mechanical engineer. Any links to clarify what you are asking about?

They were mentioned on the GMBN Tech show a few weeks back.

They’re bearings where the actual rollers or ball bearings are encased in a ceramic polymer matrix which holds the lubricant and releases it as they warm up.

I’m in the process of checking whether these guys manufacture something suitable for mountain bikes:

Are you referring to this? If so it sounds pretty cool and I like the concept. The pricing they suggest makes me think it isnt worth it. Get some good enduro bearings and keep your pivots clean.

edit:I see your skf link too. Sounds like a great idea but may not be worth the price still.

Yeah, very much depends on price doesn’t it?
