First Look: Giant's 2026 Anthem & Anthem X Get a Speed-Focused Overhaul
Looks like a great bike. Very similar to my cervelo at least on paper. Even the weight is very close. This giant looks like it has more room for a bottle on the seat tube which would be nice. People complaining about headset routing probably struggle with what side each pedal goes on. Its not that bad, just get better at working on bikes. You should be doing more maintenance on your brakes anyway.

Monarch+ w/SSD avalanche damper 200x57 7.875x2.25
$200 USDThis was on a kona process 153. 200x57 is equivalent to 7.875x2.25 size so this will work on either. It has a SSD damper from Avalanche Downhill Racing and it is a game changer. The shock works like it should and does great with resisting g outs and providing support while pedaling but still has great bump sensitivity. I no longer have the bike and my new frame uses a different size. Its been sitting around a while and Im just clearing out some parts.
This shock is in great shape. Grab an upgrade for your bike for less than the price of getting your shock modified by avalanche.

Same thing only worse is happening with vehicles and I struggle to explain it.
One theory is that its largely driven by publication reviews such as this. The journalists are comparing all these new tech features and it seems OEMs in every space are catering to good reviews rather than what consumers actually want. All of a sudden the top brands only sell things full of features no one actually wants but they have to stay ahead of each other to win the reviews and comparisons. The top brands still sell because even though they have features you don't want/need they are still better than many of the budget options in terms of something important to the consumer. (support, warranty, local shop experience, whatever it may be).
