Hello

My wife is riding more agressivelly latelly and is asking for a nice knee-shin guard that can be used all day long.

Knee only and short shin protections are not an option, since she rides flat pedals as is scared of them if her feet slip out.

G-Form Elite seems to fill all the boxes, but I read that it slips down.

Fox Launch Pro Knee/Shin Guard looks unconfortable as it has only 3 straps and no "slip-in"

Dainese ARMOFORM KNEE GUARD LITE EXT.. same impression...

Any advices?

Thanks

The Race Face Flank leg guards work great. They appear bulky but they fit well, don’t feel hot, provide awesome protection, and you forget they are on. CRC has a load of customer reviews to scan through.

Curious as to the fit of the size small Flank pads. I use these in a large, but looking for something for my GF as well. Not sure if the size small will be small enough for a 120lbs woman...

My vote goes to Kali strike knee, shin guards. Ive run them comfortably without slipping on 16 mile rides without any annoyance. Theyre very comfortable and give great protection.

Not to hijack... Smile but I am also looking for shin guards. I ride flats and frequently shinburger myself. I already have knee pads so I thought just shin guards, but people said a combo is better. Someone recommended TLD Methods, which look nice; combo but also separate... I can get those for about $50... anything else?

Your kid’s soccer shin guards from last season, preferably with integrated ankle guard... wish I wore them when I wrecked my ankle on rock climb 2 yrs ago, bone still hurts...d;o)

TLD work for me, durable and dont move once you work out the right position for them,

g forms were terrible, but you really gotta try some till you find ones that work, everyone is differently shaped

Totally off topic... how’s the terrain down on the ice sheet? Oh, current playlist is Phantogram, Joywave, Sir Sly, Lizzo, and K.Flay... d;o)

The soccer shin guards I've got, besides being currently missing lol, don't have the ankle guard and only cover the bit just above my ankle... I scrape the area just below my knee. Plus my legs are super long.

This Kali and the TLD slip in options are too short for flat pedal strikes... the shin is absolutely exposed.

I am looking for something longer

Heya Balog,
I'd reccomend the older hard shelled Fox launch (not the Fox launch pro).

https://www.mtbr.com/product/mtb-apparel-and-protection/armor-and-pads/fox-head/launch-knee-shin-guard.html

I've had them for for 6 years now and they've been amazing pads, I can ride and pedal all day in them, they breath reasonably well and provide excellent shin coverage (and overall knee protection). They can usually be had for around $70 (US). They've definitely saved my knees many a times and I actually love the snap on strap system, which is convenient and super secure. You pretty much adjust it once and then forget about it as the rest of the time you just snap them in and out (and no I've never had them unsnap in a crash, despite my best efforts XD. I don't think they can due to their design). I can say say that they're significantly better in all ways to my older 661 pads and some older troy lee pads I've tried.

Since the launch of the Fox launch pro they I've also seen them relabeled sometimes as the FOX launch safety.

Just be sure to measure your wife's legs/shins as like I said the shin coverage is excellent (full shin) but if you get too large of a size the bottom of the pad will press into your ankle.

I love the TLD Raid knee. Really good front and side protection. Comfrotable enough to pedal in and dont ride up at all! only downside is price. They have D30 so they are not cheap.
