Thought it would be very informative to throw this question out to the PB community - where else do you go, besides the obvious Ebay and Amazon, to buy used bike parts?
The story - i've been selling used bike parts here on PB and also on Ebay for almost 7 years now. I've had a great experience selling here, the extreme majority of members here are stand-up riders who just like me, are looking to get great deals on the stuff we must have on our rigs...i've only encountered a few pricks over that time and that's part of life unfortunately. Ebay however has continued to go downhill. I still sell lots of stuff there but the risk that Ebay forces it's sellers to shoulder just keeps increasing, and it's finally reaching the point where for me, it's no longer worth it. So i'm going to start phasing out my sales on ebay and shifting to more sites like PB. The question is, which ones are the best to start with? The more sites I list on, the more work involved in both listings and customer service so i'd like to start with the heaviest hitters out there.
Most stores that sell used bikes and parts on eBay also have their own web storefronts. eBay is very strict about not allowing sellers and buyers to exchange direct contact info, because this makes it very easy to cut them out of their commission.
If you don't have an ethical problem with bypassing eBay, then it's usually quite easy to find the contact info for the eBay seller using your favorite search engine. If you buy from them directly, you can usually get a discount of 10% or more because they're getting all the money (less credit card fees...).

Thanks for the info, but i'm asking about selling, not buying. I'm not worried about buying on Ebay, Ebay treats their buyers like royalty.
This works for me "Ebay treats their buyers like royalty"
I buy most of my 2nd hand parts from Ebay, very little from forums or anywhere else. 1st port of call when searching for a part is always Ebay, if new its chainreaction then compare with other sites for cost.
The simple conveniance I get from Ebay over rules the time and effort I would have to put in with a private seller on any forums or other private sales of any other site. Sellers on forums or other sites don't always respond and its difficult to know if item still available, whense Ebay.
So if you find a sellers site thats as conveniant and easy as Ebay for a buyer, and fulfills your needs as a seller, be shore to shout out about it.
