Hi Guys,

I noticed my shoulders aren't sitting too comfortable on my bike on longer rides, my handle bars seem too width, I think.

I am 6ft, just wondering what you guys are running in terms of handle Bar width? Particularly those with a similar height of 6ft.

I think my current width is 800.

Thanks,

Anil

I'm 6ft as well and like The wider handlebars
780+ but notice I started to get shoulder pain and other issues because of it. Most of my bars these days I cut down to 750 and no longer have any issue.

I had the same problem, I'm a 5'5 woman, and was getting some shoulder pain after rides. My bars were factory, 780, on both my bikes (Mukluk Salsa fat, and Santa Cruz 5010), I cut them down to 715 on the Santa Cruz, and then added a 70mm stem and what a world of difference!! I am going to do the same on the Salsa soon. The length of bars is HUGE compared to what I've ridden in the past, I heard it was because of the wider wheel base, but I suspect it's a cost issue with the mfctr, not wanting to carry / assemble handlebars of differnt widths. Seems Crazy to be squeezing through narrow openings btwn trees here on the singletrack with such wide bars. YIKES!!

I like 750 width. I'm not tall, but I have wide shoulders and long arms (hello, monkey-man!).

I've tried all sorts of widths and bars, but 750 seems pretty good to me.

I'm 6'1"

780 on trail bike.

740 on XC bike.

You may want to consider adding spacers under the stem or a riser bar before cutting them down, height issue.

You may want to run a shorter stem before cutting them down, reach issue.

You may want to cut your bars, width issue.

Bar bend can contribute to overall fit also.

5'9, just cut my bars down from 780 to 760. Always noticed my hands closer than the grip width, cutting them down places my hands more naturally.
