Fox 36 air spring

Is there a difference between a 2020 and 2021 Fox 36 air spring?
I bought a used 2021 170mm air spring but I have a 2020 fork and have ran 160 and 180mm. But I've heard that the air spring is different for 2021?...

Anybody confirm?

Update. The 2021 air spring is exactly the same as the 2018-2020. I have it installed and works great.

That's surprising as everything I have seen says they are not backwards compatible

After doing a bit more research it looks like while the air shaft will fit it won't work correcly since the top hat sizes are different.

2021 has a little bit larger negative chamber. If you try to install it probably you won't be able to inflate the neg chamber at all as the piston will sit above the transfer port even at full extension.
