Hello mechanics,

I am slowly upgrading my bike, but don't have big dollars for new forks. With rockshox releasing their new forks (and dampers) could I install the Charger 3 damper from the lyrik into my yari?

If not, what damper upgrade would work?

I currently have the 29" Yari RC motion control with 160mm travel.

Nope. You'll need the 2.1.

If you can get either of those where you are, you'll be much better off than buying a full Charger damper :

Novyparts Splug

Fast Suspension Up

They both replace the MotionControl, use the same amount of oil as stock, ... And you get a proper compression damper, pretty much suited to your weight, and not a Charger damper that'll work from a 60kg to 110kg rider weight range.

Rebound on the Yari is already really good from stock, and rarely needed to be modified unless you have very specific requirements or already close to maxed out or even out of adjustment (super light or super heavy rider). In which case a stock Charger damper wouldn't change anything, as you'd also be out of range..

Thanks guys! I'll see what my local shop can pick up for me, hadn't considered just upgrading the compression adjustments for the fork.

I looked into those companies, and after import and shipping looks like all will cost about the same.
