If that's some stuff from 3M that gets used on helicopter rotors, hell yeah. I pilot gave me some a couple years ago and it's still going strong on my primary bike.

I put a piece of t-shirt around the frame before I clamp it down.

My bike has scratches all over it and it's taking the paint off. This is because of a bike rack I use. Anybody know how I could prevent this on my next bike, without buying a new rack? I was thinking of 3M Clear Wrap.

14 mil 3m scotchgard, you can get it on ebay.

Is this the stuff that goes yellow fairly quickly?

Thank you mate. Velcro is just personal preference. I've ran it on my last 2/3 bikes. Works well with or without gloves

I've designed a few bike parts that I'd love to get manufacturered. At the moment they're just CAD files sitting on my laptop. Designed a set of Pedals and a Stem Top Cap as well as a few other parts.
My dad has a machine shop and specialises in one offs, PM me and see if you can get something done!

Why'd you label them left and right? Surely they're the same spec.

Nope, the inner diameter of the bars is different on each side. I've done two bars like this and they are 4 different measurements. It's only a few thousandths of an inch difference but I wanted them to fit as tight as possible.

I've never noticed it going yellow.

A gift for anyone who wants it and has access to 3d printing... I got this idea recently for a printable truing stand and modeled it up. The design is too simple and too easy to steal for it to have any commercial value, so my employer is letting me place the .stl files in the public domain for anyone who wants to print it, modify it, whatever.

I won't get into the details of intended layer orientation, etc. here, but if you want the files I'll be happy to fill you in on all that. Basically, this will work with hub widths between 100 and 150mm and axle diameters 12mm and larger depending on which spacers you use. A 12mmx250mm bolt or equivalent length all thread rod and nut act as a thru axle on the stand and there are slots for feeler gauges to be secured by rubber band, O-ring, etc.

Got a broken thermistor wire on my printer at the moment, but I'll be printing a copy of this to try out as soon as the soldering iron I ordered shows up.....grrrr. If anybody out there wants to print this up and try it out let me know how it works out for ya...

Cheers!

Here s an interesting project and one I can give away. I ve had this idea for a 3d printable truing stand for a couple weeks now. Because it s printable and stupid simple my boss is letting me give it away as a public domain .stl file for anyone who wants to print it. All I ask is if it makes you money cut me in bro
