evreyone keeps telling me the screams are crap... there to heavy... if you were to get a banshee i would get a wild card.
having owned and ridden pretty much the entire range of Banshees (I forget to put pics of my Scirocco and Morphine up there) I speak with experience
riding has changed, the scream was born to withstand the nasty punishment that the north shore riders and huckers were dishing out, that was snapping alot of the bikes at the time
my last Scream, the 2006 V-2 was 46lb with Fox 40s, not actually that heavy when you consider the strength of the bike - my buddies Demo 9 also with Fox 40s and a similar build was 50lb
the Wildcard is a totally different bike (slopestyle vs. extreme freeride - the scream) and its pointless comparing bikes from different categories when looking at weight
the modern version of the Scream is the Scythe, which has some better engineering and manufacturing technology, which has shaved 2lb off the frame weight whilst increasing strength and durability, plus improved shock life due to lower leverage forces
however, not everyone can afford an 08 frame / bike, and if a good deal was available on an older Scream, its still a RAD bike that will take a beating, and has the legendary Banshee ride quality
I really loved both my Screams, and did some crazy sh*t on those bikes that i will probably never try on my Wildcard ;
