Check these new hot brakes from formula named the R1,they went from a normal lever design to a radial design like the shimano, hayes, magura does. This is the ligthest brake on the market and knocks the marta SL from it's crown. Also new rotors to.

here are some pictures in some color ways for some bikes,The R1 comes in 1 color and that is blackWink .Magnesium and Carbon levers are also available to ligthen up the brakes.

The R1 will come in a bit more expensive than THE ONE. Expect slight increases across the board for all 2009 Formula product. Material and labor costs coupling with adjusted Euro exchange rates strike the US again.

Just like all Formula brakes the R1 will be available aftermarket in pre-bled 85 and 100cm lines for the front and 150 and 165cm for the rear. These kits include the lever, line and caliper. You need to purchase the rotor and adapter kit separate. The R1 rotor sets will include ti rotor and caliper bolts. Kits will be available with a full, albeit weight reduced, stainless rotor or a aluminum carrier with floating stainless braking surface. Using ORO kits will work just fine and will be a little less expensive.

read the press release from the guy's from formula them selves
http://www.formula-brake.it/system/upload/info_pdf/0000/0001/formula_press_release.pdf

all rotor sizes are available in a 160,180 and 203 in both steel and floating rotors.

Holy F...! They are beautiful.

Maybe when I get rid of my Hayes they will be a competitor. Depending on how much more they are going to be than the One.

Hot brakes and less than 298 grams per brake is phenomenal. Cost is where I'm curious it will lie. With all the rotor bits, adaptors etc what will the cost be......will it be giving Brembo a run for its money.

Yeah true, i prefer the old school lever style. Just a personnal opinion, but damn, i'd love to have those brakes on though! I'd have them in black to suit my tactical bike, but the red ones looks crazy... Eum now its all about the price.... waiting.
