(oh, and don't say "any bike as long as you use a tensioner"), i'm looking for real single speed bikes, like kona bass. I'm pretty sure commencal makes one too....

This is true, but it has a concentric BB pivot, therefor if you get the magic chainring combo you are in the clear.

I was unaware the double had horizontal drop outs, and it isn't a concentric pivot.
