best headset for 4x?

charge blender, identiti krisis, dartmoor phantom, dialled bikes holeshot, transition bank, erm lots more. No really, loads more. I love my dartmoor phantom (still not cracked yet), my mate loves his krisis. Would love a holeshot, or the new 4x frame from BTR fabrications.

I'm a big fan of Cane Creel and FSA. They have a fair few bombproof and very affordable options.

If I could do a 4x bike today, I think I'd grab an STP of a P.3. They're both fairly amazing as far as geometry is concerned, they're fairly affordable, and they both look the tits.

Sucks.

I saw the new P.3 slope bike a few weeks back, looked hyper clean. Perhaps not the best gate bike, but boy would it be fun as an all rounder.

Been meaning to ask this for a while, what tire pressure for racing?

Posted: Feb 14, 2013 at 11:24 Quote
Depends on a lot. If your local is fast and dry, you could get away with up to 40. If it's somewhat sand, or loose, probably from 28 to 36. It also depends on what sort of tire you run, and your own preference.

You usually ride at chicksands dont you?

Ive found 40psi gives the best balance of rolling speed & grip.

Been whacking them up to 50-60 for the 4x and dual race. 70psi for the DMR pumptrack challenge Smile

What tyres do you run? Isnt the minimum for most (maxxis and schwalbe anyway) about 36psi?

I do not have a 4x bike, my opinion is anecdotal from other bikes I have owned and what I have heard from others on the topic. When I was running an AM HT and doing hardpack dirtjump and pump riding, I kept my tires around 40 PSI. Kenda NPJs and Small block eights.

I normally go around 55-60psi and but if I find the track is quite slippy then i'll drop it to about 40
