2009 Intense Uzzi - Sneak Peek

Aug 30, 2008
by Jordan Holmes
Intense recently uploaded some very interesting photos to the World Wide Web, and we all know how fast the word moves over the web. Well, here you guys go. Sneak Peek photos of the 2009 Intense Uzzi, and its a piece of work!Jeff Streber recently posted some photos of the all new 2009 Intense Uzzi, and it has gone through many refinements. It features travel adjust (like Tracer vp ) either 6.75" or 7.25". It will feature all new pivots with an all new zirk system, and a 2nd generation revision of the VPP suspension design. It will feature ISCG 05 mounts, a 1.5" headtube for added rigidity, and a leverage ratio somewhere close to 2.5 / 1.

It will be compatible with either Coil or Air shocks.

This is another test proto set up with a Travis 180 single 1.5 & remember as I said these are still protos and there are changes in process to address shock fitment, rate etc. The weld on drop out is set @ 135 but uses a chip that will allow standard, 12mm or Maxle configuration & it is a lighter setup as you can see we are trying both.

Intense Cycle's appears to be on the correct foot for 2009.

I have an Uzzi VPX and love it but this is just a bit to leaning towards the slopestyle market of which the already have a specific bike, the old Uzzi was spot on travel wise, should have just tweaked it a bit - I don't like this new one.

i like it in the sense it looks like the standover as dropped but the whole loosing travel thing... whats going on, for a bike that is meant to be hucked slammed and come back for more as just lost 1 inch of pride... the head tube angle looks to have slackened a bit which is a mighty good idea and it also looks to have lightened up... again a good idea. look wise seems to be bullit proof and it still as a 12mm thru... just take away the adjustable travel and give us our inch back and show us a picture with dual crown then i'll be fully happy and consider buying a new frame!

whats with the XT wheelset on a 7inch travel bike
  • 9 3
I've run XT cranks on both my downhill and freeride bike for the last two years. Sickest cranks I've ever run.

but those are cranks..not the wheelset

rebeliousbiker-these bikes are gonna cost a lot of money and i dont see the point in upgrading if your spending around 3000 for one

I like the bottom frame, but the top one in red i really dont like. Dont know why, but it reminds me of a haro and i think it looks really cheap. Obviously its the ride that matters and intense do a good job, so it will propbably be very good. Still, dont like the look of top one.

Wow they look awesome, seems a bit of a light build (as in all mountainy) but the frame is killer!
The other proto looks sweet too.

i agree i think i prefer the box old old the new one has all these new curves and makes it look like a girls bike! the old uzzi looks like a tank alot more mean looking Smile

dont you think how they both ride (and which one is better on that basis) is the important thing?

This looks like a new & improved 07 SC VP Free - let's see how the new VP Free compares.

LOL - just noticed the VPP - it *is* the new and improved VP Free!

much prefer the bike with the manitou's, for looks that is, cant really predict the ride - but the travis is a pretty sure footed fork unlike the rest of the range - rarther like Kona is shit unless you get a supreme, then it just blows the competition out of the water

well ive had 3, from-m1- to latest uzzi-light-nimble -but not for freeride no way-like the perp too- crapp- so ive got an old demo 8- and just gonna throw some-great kit on it-sorted!oh-and i ve just broken an commencal furious too! but if i was still racing-i d throw away an intense rig, after each event!nice to look at,and ride - but take the uzzi- just the same as sc vp3-but no!- vp- is way better- better linkage-better welding, -better tubing is way stiffer-and easy to maintain-and thats it!!were all becoming FASHON,victims!!!-minty......

Sweet bike....but not enough travel! Travel should be 7.5-8.5" My SS has 6.5, why not make the Uzzi more aggressive???? AND BY THE WAY....the works finish is awesome....it doesn't show chips, scratches, or scrapes.

what's with the extremely low front end? I'm not usually one to bash Intense but an uzi with a front end this low looks like its meant to go uphill...

Nice. The raw one makes more sense. Looks like the shock will hit the t tube on the red one. Keep the low mount and yes this frame should have choices for rear dropouts for sure. I want that bike.

haha i love how just about all of intense's bikes are just like santa cruz. i understand they license out the VPP patent but shit. it goes as far as appearence and geometry i mean you look at the nomad and this. they are very similar. and the V10 and Intense. same shit...

personally i like the V10 more. its a much more balanced (and lighter frame)
