@seb-stott: for the record, it's not a dig at you as an individual or your ability to review bikes. It just seems like a missed opportunity at this point and as a pinkbike user, if we don't give feedback on what we think and want to see then there might as well not be a comments section. I don't know how many people in the comments section buy new DH bikes, but i would estimate that the percentage is relatively low. As part of that demographic, i just feel like like this missed the mark with what was possible and what i would like to see. A link to the OEM website would have provided me with 99.9% of the information here and i've come accustomed to Pinkbike doing better than that over the years. On the sizing front, the feedback is in interesting but the reach numbers give it away that this is a fairly big 'large' even by modern day standards with Canyon probably being one of the few who have a bigger bike that isnt the biggest size (i hope that makes sense). The most noticeable thing is your wheelbase comments which is genuinely useful information and differs in the real world setting to the 'on paper' number. None of that takes away from the fact that as a 'first ride', this doesnt really shed any light on the bike which is what i clicked to read. In summary... content, tables, images, anecdotal info is great, just don't call it a first ride and not give any useful info about how it rides.

@TommyNunchuck: Nope, i'd rather they actually did a first ride and reviewed it properly. They had the bike and sent someone to ride it so they might as well have sent someone that could give some meaningful feedback on it. Alternatively just do a 'first look' or 'launched' post. As someone who actually rides and races DH on a DH bike stuff like this is of genuine interest, especially when the spec and price is as good as it is with this relative to many other brands. The first ride aspect of this article adds absolutely zero value to it though.

Seems a bit pointless to get a first ride done by someone who doesn't ride DH bikes and can give absolutely no idea to how it compares to something else on the market. Might as well have put the pictures up with multiple choice options and based the review on what we guess it would ride like.
