Really is a total shame that they closed down the bike park at Mt. Washington. I think it's going to be a little harder to drag people over from the mainland or even further down island knowing you can't even put a day of riding in either.
Either way, I hope it's a success for him, but I don't think I will be making the drive up.
It's really sad that they closed that park. I was at the Bearclaw last summer and had a blast riding there for 3 days. Its a great bike park with something for everyone. Free camping is available as well. It would be worthwhile for the resort to start offering enticing packages to get ridership up and re-open.
1. As far as I know Rheeder is still off the bike for now 2. The steeziest man in the game AKA Martin Soderstrom won't be shredding there with all the other boys. 3. Mt. Washington is a bunch of cocksuckers! (Just to be clear, I don't mean the people who work there, they are great. I mean all the corporate retards that shut the bike park down)
But all in all, still really stoked, can't wait to see what gets thrown down!
Its an awesome course. Riders get hurt that sucks (Soderstrom is one of my favorites to watch) But life goes on. It will still be a cool event with a solid vibe. Its less about winning more about having fun. Messire will throw down as always and im waiting for him to blow a competition out the water. He always seems to be on the cusp of a giant run.
and the thing is semenuk has the yard set up for it. obviously he wouldn't be able to have fans there but it would be pretty sweet if something went down
I had a bit of altitude/motion sickness watching the video... .. in another life perhaps god will inject some jumping skill genes... looks like a helluva lot of fun
Awesome course, very creative and so many elements. Not many guys/girls could ride this successfully - the skill sets it covers is just sick. Best of luck to Darren I am sure this will be crazy good. I'm going to try to get up to Mnt Washington - so gorgeous up there and so much to ride even without the lift access.
sorry my mistake i was referring to the massive trail network stretching from Cumby to Comox valley. I am still pissed about the park being closed but after lobbying for what seemed forever to get things right I try to focus on the positives. It just seems sad to downplay what a gem that part of the province is.
dang! i swear every year The Claw flies over my trail in a chopper and steals all my ideas... and makes them bigger... and better... and has a world tour event on his trail.

Should make for some good stuff off of it.

But if ya wanna ride mt wash one more time sign up for the bc cup race.
Really nice course for this year's comp, should be great
