Diamondback Downhill at Sony VAIO Joy Ride Fest 2013 (24-25 May)

Be the first in Europe to see the Diamondback Prototype Mason FS

The Joyride Festival is one of the largest bike festivals in Europe, and although only in its second year an estimated 18’000 people will attend this year’s event.

The venue is just outside the small town of Kluszkowce in the south of Poland, close to the beautiful Tatra mountains, on the shores of lake Czorsztyn, a fantastic natural settings for this event.

As well as the Sony VAIO Joy Ride Fest being a true bike event (with 1400 people taking part in the various races last year), it's also a major music festival with big acts from around Europe performing. This year’s headliners are the Gorillaz!


Ride Hard Party Hard!

The DH race will be supported by Diamondback Europe and with it comes some world class competitors. Already on the start list are riders from, Spain, Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Ukraine, United Kingdom and Germany. The new course is great for spectators and has been improved for better flow and fun.

In 2013 Diamondback signed with the 44Racing Rockstar team, this was a great synergy as they are able to ride one of the best DH rigs on the market and provide vital feedback to the product team on future projects.

Nick Geoghen, Joe Mallinson and Sam Johnson from the Diamondback Rockstar team will be racing in the downhill, Gerard Plata will be in the slopestyle, Piotr Szwedowski and Duncan McCann will be ripping the dual slalom course on their new Diamondback Bandito team bikes.

Duncan McCann (Diamondback Europe) said this about the event “I have been involved with mountain biking in Poland for the last 5 years and have seen the riding skills at the joyride events come on dramatically. It’s great that we have this opportunity to bring some world class athletes on state of the art equipment to such a great event. Make sure you're in the finishing paddock for the DB downhill as I will be distributing DB swag!".

BE THE FIRST IN EUROPE TO SEE THE NEW DB MASON FS

As part of the event there will be an expo area, where the public can see, try and buy some of the latest kit available.

This is what Pinkbike had to say about it:

“The ideal Mason FS owner would be a rider who takes charge of their bike on the downs and isn't afraid to hang it all out there in the name of speed. The bike is deceivingly effective on hard terrain, so much so that it is a bit of a sleeper; many well-to-do riders partial to boutique brands will likely underestimate just how capable it is. That is their loss, though, because those aggressive riders who are in the know will be able to get the most from this bike. Sure, it probably wouldn't be our first choice if all of our climbing took place on technical singletrack, or if we spent most of our time descending on ultra-smooth terrain, but the big Diamondback is a great choice for rough and challenging trails that might make a fly-weight 29er cower.”
