Whistler’s 7th Annual Freeride Mountain Bike Festival Returns August 7-15, 2010

As Whistler winds down its second snowiest season on record, the Crankworx team is hard at work putting together what is looking to be an incredible event lineup for 2010 including live webcasting of all events. The 2010 event lineup is as follows:The 2010 event schedule for Kokanee Crankworx will be as follows:
August 7: Dual Slalom
August 8: Monster Energy Garbanzo DH
August 8: Ken Quon Ride On/BC Cup Finals
August 10: Canadian Open Enduro
August 11: Air DH
August 12: VW Trick Showdown
August 13: Giant Slalom presented by Giant Bicycle Company
August 14: Monster Energy Slopestyle
August 15: Canadian Open DH presented by Kona

The Slopestyle and Boneyard’s all-new course design is now finalized leaving Crankworx course designer and pro rider John Cowan and his crew, waiting in anticipation for the snow to melt to start construction in early-May.

The crown-jewel of Kokanee Crankworx, the Monster Energy Slopestyle, is now a top level “diamond” rated event in the newly formed Freeride Mountain Bike World Tour, ensuring Crankworx will continue to attract some of the world’s best talent.

In true Kokanee Crankworx form, the action doesn’t stop on the mountain. A retooled nine-day program featuring downhill, x-country, mountain bike Demo Zone, a village-wide expo and non-stop after-hours festivities will keep the energy high on and off the mountain. The Saint Deep Summer Photo Challenge will return on August 12, 2010 with the rest of the entertainment lineup announced soon.

And for those who can not take part in the exciting action in Whistler, Crankworx will be offering expanded webcast coverage with live streaming of all 2010 events held in the bike park on-line at www.crankworx.com - along with daily video reports and on-demand segments. With over one million views of online web action during the 2009 event, the planned 2010 coverage will be sure to keep even more of the mountain bike world in touch with Whistler’s biggest annual event!

Take advantage of great room rates to experience all of the action in person at the brand new Aava Whistler Hotel, the official hotel of Kokanee Crankworx, with great room rates starting at $99 midweek and $119 on weekends through www.whistler.com and 1-800-WHISTLER.

Shortly before the action hits Whistler, Crankworx Colorado will be back for the fourth year in Winter Park, Colorado (July 29-August 1). Quickly gaining stature as one of the best mountain bike events in the US, Crankworx Colorado will feature several new trails and features built in the Trestle Mountain Bike Park.

Kokanee Crankworx is presented by Whistler Blackcomb and the Whistler Mountain Bike Park. Whistler has the world’s most diverse offering of mountain biking terrain, attracting all disciplines of mountain biking. From 150 miles of single-track trails and 5,000 vertical feet of lift-accessed downhill runs in the Whistler Mountain Bike Park, to jump parks and the 20+ miles of paved Valley Trail, there’s something for every rider.

Consistently ranked as North America's top ski and snowboard resort, Whistler Blackcomb elevates summer adventure to new heights. On-Mountain activities include high alpine hiking and sightseeing via the new PEAK 2 PEAK Gondola, epic riding in North America’s number one ranked lift-accessed mountain bike park, and summer skiing and riding on Blackcomb’s Horstman Glacier. In the valley, the family-friendly Adventure Zone at the base of Blackcomb provides a carnival-like experience for all ages. Located a scenic two-hour drive north of Vancouver up the spectacular Sea to Sky Highway, this four season resort is truly spectacular by nature. Check it out at www.whistlerblackcomb.com.

No they don't, someone should set up a petition to do so, even if its like channel 4 or 5. I know in the newspaper the other day, a guy in oz wanted to watch a league one game of football, so he asked the big channels out their, and they did it! Even though there was 4 viewers!

Nice, would be a good thing to do. We'd have to organize it properly though. Also, it would be a HUGE step to making mountain biking more popular.
