Lone Wolf Productions Work With Tourism Kamloops

Earlier in the season Lone Wolf Productions was approached by Tourism Kamloops Marketing Manager Howard Grieve to do some video work in order to promote the Kamloops Bike Ranch. Apparently, they had seen some footage that we had shot of the park the year prior and were looking for a new edgy way to advertise the terrain that the Kamloops Bike Ranch had to offer.

When Tourism Kamloops was asked about the project this is what they had to say:

It is no secret that the use of video to promote and sell a product or service online is very effective and they are relatively easy to upload and embed on a website page. The opportunity to feature some of the best local riders while showcasing mountain biking facilities in Kamloops led me to contact Matt at Lone Wolf Productions to complete the project. Matt is well connected, a talented videographer and has delivered above and beyond what we had hoped for. - Howard Grieve, Manager, marketing and communications for Tourism Kamloops

Of course we at Lone Wolf Productions were honoured to par take, and hoped that we would be able to provide what they were looking for. The premiss behind the videos was to show people what the trails looked like from top to bottom, both through rider perspective, and side angles that would showcase the epic scenery Kamloops had to offer. After a collaborative effort from a group of riders, Tourism Kamloops and Lone Wolf Productions we had five videos that we were quite proud of. Cool tourism initiative. Can I just say though, how much I hate helmet cams pointed straight down at the front wheel? So hard to watch, hurts my eyes and gives me a headache. Point those cameras ahead at the trail, not down in the dirt

bro its a chest mount, designed to show the front end of the bike better. while the angle was a little to far down, ideal angling would still be with handlebar in the frame.

flip the gopro upside down and put it in upD (updown) mode. Then you could film the sky while using the chest mount if you wanted too. Too many people don't know how to do that, and ruin their shots.

Yep.. upside-down mode is on the new firmware.. really, the only way to get a good angle from a chestie is to flip it over so you can tip it up, just a bit more.. after updating the firmware and selecting upD in the settings, the camera flips the image so it's correctly oriented when you take if off the camera and play it. pretty fly.

I definitly didn't know that GoPros could be flipped up side down until I read the "instruction manual" very thoroughly. I think that 'bikerofestacada' meant that chest mounts are supposed to show the handle bars and hands etc. However, not at the ground like those ones. Cool idea for tourism though

Props to our boys on two wheels! You do an incredible job. Its a shame however that Tourism Kamloops doesn't get off their duff and promote some real Kamloops riding. Its about time they team up with local shops and builders. Bike Ranch...been there seen that. Kamloops has way more to offer. At one time Kamloops was a freeriding mecca. Communities across BC are gaining funds (federal and provincial) improving trail infrastructure, creating new lines, and providing interactive mapping, allowing peeps to know where and how to get there to wicked trails. But I digress. These boys do an incredible job prompting Kamloops.

While I agree Kamloops IS a freeriding mecca, there are a few things wrong with what you're saying here and I would like to clarify. First, they did "get off their duff" and I think these videos are proof of that. They were very easy to work with, and took the time to make sure that their target audience would both enjoy and find these videos useful. Second, many of the awesome trails you speak of are on private land and thus are considered to be illegal. I agree they are lots of fun but Tourism Kamloops can not promote their use as there could be legal ramifications. Third, this is a Municipally funded park so Federal and Provincial funds would not play any part here. Thanks for the props on the video work, keep watching for more videos still to come.

With all due respect, the "Pale Rider" trail is a Red trail at best. "Double black" is a gross exaggeration. However, if your labeling system is correct, then by your standards europeans ride triple & quadruple black diamond trails for starters. You should see the blue trail at our local hill. It's 600 meters of gnarly drop.

Kamloops does get a fairly cold winter so it would be unrideable from roughly mid November to March or April, depending on how much snow we get.

No, you have two options to get to the jumps, you can either walk up from the bottom parking lot for about 500m at your there or ride down any of the trails which all also dump into the jumps at the bottom.
