This weekend (September 24th) saw the final round of the 2011 Schwalbe Euro 4X Series take place on Saturday in the Czech city of Pec, on what is one of the World’s biggest and craziest 4X tracks.
Most of the World’s top riders were there racing at the fifth and final round of the series, fighting hard to finish as high up in the overall rankings as possible. The track is undoubtedly one of the world’s best. At around a minute long, there is plenty of time for lots of passes and with natural rock sections, man made rock sections, rhythm sections, 50 foot double jumps and a road gap that would look scary on a Downhill bike.
Going into the final race, Joost ‘The Boost’ Wichman lead the Series with 396 points, 2010 World Champion Tomas Slavik was second with 300 points and in third it was ‘Boom Boom’ Scott Beaumont with 268. The fight for the overall title was between these three riders as they were the only ones who could mathematically take it. With a total of 141 points up for grabs to the fastest qualifier and winner of the race, anything could happen!
GHOST Factory rider and fourcross.tv team member Adam Stasek took the win in an exciting final with Adrian Weiss in for second, Jakub Riha for third and Tomas Slavik in fourth. But that was all Slavik needed to take the overall win for the series. Scott Beaumont won the small final to finish up third, and Joost Wichmann crashed but ended up second overall. Still no word on how he's doing.
The 2011 Schwalbe Euro 4X Series has been the best Euro Series ever with 150 of Europe’s best 4X riders all taking part in the series, all chasing the prestigious title.
This is one of the few things that made me proud I'm Czech but too bad that our media even didnt notice something.. Slavik is more famous in the world then in home - too bad
I know how you feel dude , we have got many world champs in UK , yet never any coverage , but when we get knocked out of Tennis in semi-finals it's front page news BULL SHIT !!!
The kind of 'moron' that only has one bike to use for every thing ? I use my Gambler for DH/DJ/pumptracks/whatever is in-front of me. Some people don't have a bike for every niche of our sport ya know!
I thought 4X was no longer a real sport? Obviously the Europeans didn't get the memo! It's a wonder the whole thing didn't just blow up without the steady hand of the UCI on the rudder...
Video? We don't even have photos yet. Hopefully we'll have photos by Monday, no idea when or if for video. But as soon as we get it we'll post it here.

And knobs who make comments about people using the "wrong" kit for the job. so what mnorris....
Looks like the Schwalbe Euro series is the leader moving forward - bloody good tracks too some of them.
