Transition Bikes Sea Otter Trip Day 2

Apr 20, 2010
by Transition Bikes
Day two of our road trip brings us to the birth place of Mountain Biking, Mill Valley California. We hit up our local shop Mt. Tam Bikes for some quick directions to find our way. Lucky for us Bryce from the shop hooked us up with a guide for the day. Chris works for WTB, which is located just down the street and was gracious enough to take some time to show us the trails.

Day 2 inside,We decided that we had to summit the world famous Mt. Tam where mountain bike pioneers Gary Fisher, Joe Breeze and Joe Murray shredded the first mountain bikes. Our trip would not be complete without absolutely destroying some fire roads with our power slides in slow motion. It was an epic day with a massive amount of climbing rewarded with some of the finest views of San Francisco and the coast. Even though the trails we hit weren't the best in the world it was great to see where it all started.

WOOT! Good for you guys visiting mill valley/ marin, too bad you guys didn't get to ride the kick ass xc trails we have here (china camp, bolinas, more of marin Razz )

I live at the base of Tam, and either you are following proper protocol and keeping it hush-hush, or you just didn't poach some of the sickest trails ever because your guide didn't wanna risk a $270 fine for "bike on trail." Fire Roads are for climbing...we all know that.

at least you got a taste of Tenderfoot...that's one of the few multi0use trails out of over a hundred miles of single track, but still, it's pretty sweet!

Too bad the really nice trails on Tam are all illegal, otherwise I'm sure that Chris could have shown you guys some real original Mount Tam awesomeness.
