i like brandon, but im not a big fan of bike throwing, even if they can just get it replaced, i think its a bit disrespectful. congrats on the win though! haha and it looks like he hit the gym over the winter!
hahaha thats true! celebrate all you want if you win, i just don't like it when they throw bikes because people like me can't afford that bike and they just throw it around! jealousy factor plays in here haha
I think he is stoked on the inside. he just doesn't show it because some of the top riders have to mentality that its not "cool" to show it. much like skiing and snowboarding. Thats why i love the movie Claim.
It wasn't really that amazing. Back flip, 360 X-up, 360, Turn Bar, 360 bar spin, tail whip. a little more variation would have been nice. i think it was Mike Montgomery who did the Flair on the last jump, that was sick. A bunch of 360's and a Tail Whip is below standard for a DJ/free ride, rider like Brandon Semenuk.
the jumps were actually super tight and sketchy, making extreme trickery hard. montgomery could have won, but throwing that backflip off the stepdown was actually a pretty ballsy move considering the wind that day. and he oppo 3'd the second jump.
at first i thought the same thing hoolydooly but after a second look these guys are right. its not like i was there but there's always a reason when the pros arent throwin down like that....wind, sketchy jumps......makes sense to me
Brandons run was for sure the top run. Trucking that final little jump was nuts because it was so damn hard to make it over in the first place. He definitely deserved it.
jumps on a ship? bad idea a year ago! bad idea now. Why not build the next one on a train, or better yet a transport truck. Wait maybe in the back of my Van? Keep it real ride natural dirt......just saying.
why neg prop him? its true.. Ship might look cool, but sea and wind go hand in hand together. Wind is not a friend to dirt jumpers and if you're gunna run a comp that you can set up anywhere, why pick where the wind is?
Its not like the ship was moving or anything. Wind is wind, it happens and im pretty sure there used to it. The riders weren't dealing with dangerously high wind speeds. The organizers are just trying to make it more interesting. I love mountain biking and everything involved in the sport, and i love watching it. But lets face it, its not exactly popular in the main stream. They do events like this to try and spice things up. Im not hating, im just stating my opinion.
