For the July long weekend, my friends and I decided to road trip to Williams Lake to do some riding. So I packed up my bike,
Little Johnny, along with everything else but the kitchen- sink, and headed out along the canyon. The drive up is about 5 hours from Abbotsford, but so worth it.
My friend Karla has an Aunt who lives just out of town on a lake, so we camped out in her backyard.
We were all stoked to ride so we got up early (11AM) and headed out riding. We hit the in-town mountain, Fox, in the morning and then headed out of town to Desous in the later afternoon.
I’ve never been so stoked to be riding my little Nemesis then I was on those trails. You had to work for everything you got. Little Johnny’s small enough I can throw him around but, he’s tough enough to take a hit, and the hits on Desous can be knarly!
It was super hot out in the Puddle, so we decided to hang out at camp in the afternoon. Karla’s aunt’s house comes equipped with a sick dock jump so the guys practiced no foot 360’s (or whatever they’re called). Little Johnny forgot his water wings so he never partook in the festivities.
Day two on Desous had to have been my favorite. We took the only DH trail down to the Fraser River. Besides Mt.7's Psychosis run, I have never been on anything so steep and sketch in my life. There was actually a rut in the sand from everyone tri-podding. The view down to the river was incredible though.
We headed home Monday absolutely exhausted but looking forward to our next road trip to the Puddle.
Todd's racks keep all the bikes apart and scratch free
Until The Next Road Trip,
