Despite there still being some snow at the top, Télémorgins has confirmed that Morgins Bike Park will be opening this weekend! The trail crew has been busy preparing the trails over the last few days, and work on the downhill run for the IXS contest (10-12 June) is well under way. Everything has been done to provide the best experience possible for the first riders coming this weekend. We're just waiting for the last of the snow to melt so we can make it perfect...

No matter the weather, the lifts will be running all day long. So dust off your biker, dig out your gear and drive straight to Morgins and be the first to shred some of the best trails in the region with some local riders this weekend!

These are not berms. These are human sized loamy fun pipes.

 Just a random question:
We are planning a bike trip in begging of August in the area and can't decide where to camp, which campsite are nicer - closer to Morgins area or Chatel and which bike park is better? (We probably will ride both any way)
Did anybody have some experience with camps there?

just camp on the parking lot in chatel ,its free and lots of nice people stay there and the park is better and bigger, i'd say make one trip over to morgins and one to morzine (depending on how long you are staying) and the rest of your stay ride chatel.

I totally agree with @poritz. Also if you want to spend a bit more time around Morzine a lot of people park up and stay in the carrefour car park, and in Les Gets there's a spot by the lake half way down the chavannes run where you can camp.

@poritz: what about bathrooms and showers there? Otherwise sound great! Thanks!

And we're with tents, which is a small problem with parking lots, is it OK there?

@alek0: there are public bathrooms at the lift station ,but as far as i know they dont have showers. but next to the parking lot there is a river, with some pools where you can wash yourself. i would be careful camping in the carpark in morzine directly under the lift ,because you might get towed Big Grin @kes2903 where exactly is the spot by the lake ,sounds interesting ?  @alek0: There is a stream running by the carpark in Chatel. And toilets just by the chairlift. Best place to camp in Portes du Soleil for shure!

@alek0: tents are no problem on the parking lot in chatel, we did it last year. one tent and a big pavilion .

Thanks everyone! And just to add Vinny T you are my hero, and rad video as always! Sorry for non related comments

@alek0: there is also a camp ground with luxuries like electricity and showers but we chose to sleep in the car park as it is closer to the lift, don't set up a tent by the river you will be told to remove it due to the danger of flash flooding.

My GF will be with us this time, so the luxuries are must...but the parkinglots sounds great, we did it a lot last summer around bikeparks in Austria Smile

@poritz: you know the little jump park under the chavannes lift? You then go over the wooden bridge over the road? Just there between the road and the trail. And that road goes to the lake.

Camp in chatelon parking or in the camping 5 minutes from the lift it's realy good! Don't forget to plan a day in Verbier (1 hour of chatel) in case you are tired of breaking bumps....

@kes2903: thanks might check it out this summer ;D

If I had just spent so much time and effort putting some sweet berms together Vinny T would be the last rider I'd let take first run at them Smile

@poritz would it be worth to fly into geneva and hitup morgins for day? My wife goes to laussane for work next weekend and i wanted to know if it was worth it, or should i just wait for chatel to open up?
