Words: Eddie Clark

The Specialized Revolution Enduro Series presented by Fat Tire made it's way to Snowmass, CO for the fifth stop of the series. Originally it was scheduled to be the final, but an excessive snow season required the rescheduling of the Powderhorn race, which is now the series final and one to absolutely not miss! A favorite destination with it's extra large sized bikepark, diverse trail network and spectacular setting in the heart of the Rocky Mountains, Snowmass handily delivered the goods this year for seven stages of all-out enduro racing this past weekend.

On Saturday racers started with a warm-up stage on Papa Smurf and Viking, and then progressed to rowdier and longer stages which both started above 11,000 feet before a long pedal transfer to the infamous Bonzai DH for stage 4. The dry summer provided for hot dusty conditions and deep moondust that hid plenty of roots and rocks on lower sections of the tracks, which continued on through Sunday's three big stages of racing that finished with an extra long singletrack descent from Sam's Knob.

In the Pro Women, Lia Westerman finished in the lead after the first day with second and third going to upcoming pros Pella Ward and Mary McClarnon who all finished the day within 14 seconds. The Pro Men's race provided even tighter racing with Jake Green emerging in the lead and the top four being separated by only 8 seconds.

Alexander Blanar has spent the past month racing with a busted hand while also winning the Junior Men's 17-18 category with times that have consistently placed him in the top ten for the Pro class throughout the REV Enduro series. Note to pro enduro team managers, the upcoming talent is deep!

As is commonly said in Marco's presence, "Send it Randy!".

In closing, a heartfelt shout-out to the Boulder Junior Cycling Team (BJC). They've had a rough month with the loss of their teammate Magnus White who was hit and killed on what was to be his last training ride before heading to Scotland to compete in the Junior World Championships. It's truly great these juniors could come together to #rideformagnus and shred the good times this weekend.

Such fun, scary and exciting race. Ready to do it again next year.

Rode here mid-summer and the conditions include five inches of slippery moon dust over rim mangle razer rocks. It doesn't appear that Aspen has received any rain since then. Amazing race in these conditions.

Rode here first week of August and the conditions were great, it rained every evening we were there. Cowboy Coffee, Animal Crackers, Vapor, Battle Axe, Government/Bonzai, were so fun!
