Sam Hill has been out of action for most of this season, but is back just in time to have a go at Worlds. Brett Tippie caught up with him to ask about that crash, pressure, and what he's thinking about before falling asleep!
who cares what he's like to interview??, dude can ride a bike like no one else when he's on!!
Notice all the negative comments are from the whinging poms..."dull", "boring"...what because he doesnt talk himself up or take his shirt off every 10 secs???
Australian domination again!! from a country with little hills for tracks, 3 world champs, nuff said, just awesome!!
Sam Hill. I doubt Monster or Specialized care at this moment how is interview handling skills are....but ideally you want a rider that can endear himself to the public and push the product. Wow what a machine.
Gee has more personality. Not that important but it's obvious that Sam doesnt really dig the limelight. Just a suggestion, but If you want to continue to be the face of this sport your gonna have to embrace the public part of it.
I actually just watched the whole interview, and I thought it was better than most of his past interviews. IMO He just has an ultra calm demeanor during interviews and he speaks kind of soft. But I I think he was sharing plenty of information. I shouldnt have commented til I watched the whole thing. Good interview!!!
I know he's a great biker and all, but I gave up watching the interview after 5 minutes when I was only a third of the way through... Congratz for getting the worlds tho
what are you talking about no real knowledge? Lots of these riders are actually his friends he has known for years. This has been totally insightful. good job Brett, Aaron and Pinkbike. Any interviewer has notes - it's called being professional and making sure you hav all your stats.
Actually having worked with lots of interviews I have to tell you that Tippie is far and away the best I've worked with. He is able to think so quickly and has such a knack for conversation and has an amazing ability to subtly direct an interviewee to get what he wants out of them. Really rare you find someone who is a legend of his calibre but is also extremely talented on camera. Not to mention it's unbelievable the research he does and the facts he knows about the riders.
Tippies no intern. He is a pioneer of freeriding, and helped get us to where we are today. might not be for everyone, but was a hero of mine in the early kranked films, and I like his stoke factor. that was a great week of buildup.
Go for it mate, you can win
