One of the longest stages in the race down from Tignes to the valley - 30-minutes plus for most of the competitors.

Put Friday 31st October 2014 at 18.00GMT firmly in your diary if you want a chance to take on the most exciting, downhill-heavy enduro stage race on the calendar next summer. Trans-Savoie race dates are set for the week 22-29 August 2015, and the window to apply for a place on the start line opens for just 24 hours this Friday. Applications are welcomed from all riders, regardless of age, sex or nationality.

Entry forms and full pricing details are here www.trans-savoie.com/entry

After two massively successful editions, the next Trans-Savoie is going to be off the scale. We've lined up more awesome trails, more fun and less pedalling miles on liaison sections than ever before. If you think you can handle riding and racing epic, wilderness singletrack trails for 6 days straight with ski lifts doing the bulk of the climbing, make sure to get your entry in. For the last two years, demand has way outstripped the number of places available on this unforgettable Alpine adventure.

New for 2015, to make the open-to-all event even more accessible, we are offering the cheapest way to enter the Trans-Savoie yet with an extra option of a less expensive, stripped back, self-supported package. Vango LUX pack places will also be available again next year for those looking for a little more luxury.

Trans-Savoie

The entry process will see the Trans-Savoie team screening all applications to ensure riders meet the required level of technical competence and experience required to safely compete, before 100 entry places are randomly allocated (it's not done on a first come, first served basis).

Trans-Savoie

Successful applicants will be notified in early November. A second wave of limited entries (around 20 places) will be available on 1st March 2015. There are no reserve spaces for Pro racers - if you are a Pro rider and wish to participate, we strongly advise getting your entry in early.

The 2014 highlights video gives you an idea of what Trans-Savoie offers - unbelievable descents for up to 30 minutes, singletrack ribbons for miles, all spiced up by some of the most technically demanding rocky, challenging terrain on the enduro race circuit. Over the course of six days there are up to six massive timed downhills per day in stunning dramatic alpine scenery, all accessed using the extensive lift systems (or the least uphill liaison stages we can engineer!) to get to the good stuff. Trans-Savoie is ridden against the clock during the stages, but we strive to deliver a fun, relaxed vibe throughout the week with no excessive pressure to compete - racers can take it all in at whatever pace they prefer.

Ren Wildhaber on his way to winning Day Three by over a minute. This trail descends from 2 350 metres at the refuge to 900m at the village and took Ren under 30 minutes

Day Two 2014

Fancy riding an alpine enduro where there are six days with elevation profiles like this? Yes - you read that right - that's over 5,000m (16,500 feet) of downhill singletrack in one day with five timed stages!

Trans-Savoie is a race, but it would be rude not to sample the local refreshments after the day's stages right??

"Trans-Savoie is a race, but it would be rude not to sample the local refreshments after the day's stages right?"
Way to just gloss over the table full of naked dudes.... I guess it's better, for promoting the race, to not explain how that happened.

It's hot and sunny in France in August, so why not enjoy a few beers and a local spirit sat outside a bar with your top off - it's not that big a deal is it??

What an incredible experience this would be. The riding, the mountains, the atmosphere, the people... I can't think of a biking event I'd rather be a part of.

Really considering but what would the skill level need to be and if you not close to being a pro is it worth even attempting?

We had a veteran competitor this summer who described it as 'one of the best weeks of his life'. You don't need to be a Pro rider to enjoy it that's for sure...

I feel like an idiot for 100% being tempted to enter, looks like such a crazy challenge but an amazing experience.
