Former EWS Racer & Concussion Advocate Lorraine Truong Passes Away at 35
RIP, Lorraine. An inspiration and lesson to us all. I remember racing with her in 2015 and she was not only pinned but a great soul, a good racer with a great head on her shoulders. 2015 EWS not only saw Lorraines injuries, but also the death of Will Olson in Crested Butte. Both of these tragedies rocked our community and made me as an upcoming racer question the sustainability of this sport at the professional level. Even today, we hear "just a hit to the head" too often by commentators and on racers' social media. It's great to see the audience aware of these risks, but we need action at the organization level to foster change that can allow our sport to thrive in the long run.
