The cranks have kinda been issue ridden too :/ so can i still ride the cranks during a 6hr race safely without that outer bolt right? Cause im not gonna get that new bolt in the mail until next week and my race is Saturday.... Is it still safe?

Dont know, take a L'n key with you just in case it gets loose. but if you tight it up good, dont think it would be a big problem.

i didnt do anything my buddy was trying to get the bolt off and couldnt so he put the allen tool in the slot and hit it with a hammer and it totally RUINED the top bolt and so we had to break the bolt out and that took 2 and a half hours...... so now i cant ride even tho i just got new tires. and i have another 6hr race in 6 days im screwed!!!!!!!!!!
