I wish my local range allowed shooting prone. I guess a few accidents happened and now they just don't allow it, even though they have some pretty long range target setups.
How do you have accidents tied to prone shooting? Did someone actually manage to not notice that there was one or more people on the firing line? On the other hand I was a member at a different gunclub years ago, it was a handgun only range and to enter the 50 yard line you would walk directly into the lanes at the 25 yard point. So if someone forgot to close the gate and or secure it properly there was the possibility of serious injury or even death. As someone could turn the corner and face direct gunfire. I heard about a few close calls but never experienced any while I was a member there.
