sweet...we get them each October.last year I tried a s-works epic and a s-works stumpy and the day before I went to the velodrome to try the road stuff......awesome stuff.
So many specialized bikes here in Cairns thanks to the success of 1 shop.. Pumping Pedals. Great shop run by good people. Would love a big S but alas out of my price range!
yes.the main shop here for many years "Tuckers" is a Specialized dealer and they also sold Norco and a brief stint with Giant. When I 1st started in 2006 every kid and DHer had a Norco A-line and the XC guys had a Epic.about 4 years ago they went to Giant before a Giant dealer came to town. There are a shit load of Giants around now. They are priced well and the shop owner after a rough start has really gone to lengths to service the town.....I would say he is #1 now.The spesh bikes are lovely but way to expensive.A few of the guys have gone to Gladstone to buy Trek coz like Giant they are great bang for ya buck......for me I like Giant suspension and they always look and ride great but above all I can afford a nice bike well spec'd.If I was to buy same for same spec I would be looking at $1000 plus......also the Giant dealer is 7 days for any little dramas that need fixing.
I like the way giants ride too.. My mates got a Glory.. Nicest DH bike I've ever been on..plush but doesn't wallow.. Firm with a good proggrisive stroke.. I guess all maestro bikes feel this way?
