Just saying something looks "Photoshoped" doesn't mean shit. Be specific. Do you mean the colors are too saturated? Too sharp? Too this, too that??? How about I tell you people why you think it looks photoshopped. The photographer (that being Rob) used off camera flashes to pop the rider out from the back-round. Therefore the rider has an artificial look to him compared to the back-round which has no flash on it. This is done to bring out detail in the subject. Being a professional photographer myself, and knowing Rob, I can assure you that the only photoshopping done here are the normal -must do- things, such as sharpening(which must be done. As is the nature of digital photography) and perhaps some level tweaks, but these are always done to ensure the best over-all image quality. You can't just say something looks "photoshoped" That can LITERALLY mean thousands of things
I had the original image from Rob. All I did to the image was crop, level and sharpened the image so it could be used for Tyler's part 2 of his interview. A lot of time great pics look surreal – this is one of them! Doesn’t matter if you have an expensive camera or Photoshop CS - The camera is the least important part of taking good pictures and PS is just a tool. You need to have the eye and need to master the tools - that’s what separates good photographers from novice ones. Get out there, ride, snap pics, have FUN! Cheers!
oh yeah )))) that amazing pic ) You've right NorcoRider540 )))) This isn't earth... this is a Mars... ))) This is DECISIVELY POD POD POD )))))) keep going... )) REGARDS for all
whoa 1st thing i noticed was the totems wow great photo robert rebholz but that guy is not usin a full face helmet but hes prolly too good to use one and it prolly gets too hot for one
wpt a bunch of fannies. u cant photoshop a pic and have a perfec shaddow. class riding, although i aint seen anyone gettin a POD for their bike in a while
It does appear that the shot was built in photoshop, but the technique they used is perfectly legitemate. It is only used to enhance the colors of the scene, not to create a fraudulous image.
Lets try this again for all you guys who dont know shit about photography. The shadow is directly under the rider, because the sun is casting it there. The rider is illuminated from the side, because the flash source is parallel to the rock wall, therefore no shadow from the flash, because there is nothing on the right side of the rider to cast the flash shadow on to. Flash is used on sunny days to fill in and create contrast within the subject.
This is not rocket science people.
man, this has got to be one of the most crisp, and sound photos ive seen in a long time. sweet bike, sweet rider, sweet totem forks, sweet layout, damn, this is a fucking sweet pod. keep it up and mad props to both rider and photographer. keep on shredding in the real world
also who gives two fucks if it has been photo shopped , as long as the rider is actually DOING the stunt and has been worked on to ENHANCE the appearence, not been morphed in like some fuck wits try to
Idiot above me: Photoshopped can mean that the colors were enhanced, or that some things were tweaked. He's not saying it didn't happen, he's saying that it's not the shot that came out of the camera, and I agree. It looks to me like they first took a photo of the cliff using a tripod, and then using the same exact camera angle, they took another shot with different exposure settings, and digitally combined them to get a good looking photograph, and in a lot of situations, that technique is the only way to get a good shot out of tough to shoot situations.
And if anyone gives me negative props for sharing my insight on the issue: 1) I don't give a shit 2) Grow up and think about what the props are for. They are to promote constructive comments.
