Clouds ad dramma to a picture. Your camera picks up shadow detail better than any camera i have used. Are you achieving this quality with soft ware? Are you using multiple shots and HDR programs? Does your camera have internal HDR? All the same your pics are of amazing visual quality. What software are you using? Which tools?
the picture out of the camera would come out as natural looking as it gets. No internal HDR or any other form of manipulation, but most often in good light I am getting pretty good images with lots of detail to work with. I would than spend some happy time in PS working on a picture, adding multiple layers or filters. I am not holding myself back. I love how a picture can develop in something which gets beyond photography. I've got Topaz Labs and Nik Collection plug ins which I most often use and I don't care if the final result sometimes has nothing to do with reality. It's visual pleasure)
@windv: Agreed. I want to see stunning images not some attempt to create reality. All photographs are an abstraction of reality. If the final image is pleasing to the person creating the image that is all that's important. You would be surprised how many "pro" photographers get upset at the idea of altering the image. I used to go to a photo club. If most photographers had your style and ambition I would still attend photo clubs. I'm not familiar with Topaz labs but I am aware of the Nik tools. I use Corel soft ware. Could not live with out layers
@Sshredder: you are right, I also never got into the "natural photography" movement. I haven't used Corel soft ware since forever, but at that point I also have no time and will to get into learning to use another one. The Topaz Labs stuff are pretty great. Lately I use them more often than other plug ins. Some time ago I used to spend much more time working on an image and would create collages mixing photos and drawings. Some of them were extremely far away from what it originally as. You can check the gallery here:
@windv: i find its best to get to know the tools/filters that you have and concentrate on perfecting the use of those tools. I could get the latest soft ware but i am content using what i have.
I am looking forward to checking out your art photography. Thanks!
they've got big nests around villages which stay for years. Some villages have tens of stork nests waiting for htem each year to come back from africa There were many smaller nests in this big one
