 You can easily fill those voids or chips with superglue. Use baking soda on the superglue to make it set quicker and it makes it harder also. This comes from the aviation world or that's where I learned the process. Here is an example video: www.youtube.com/watch?v=3VNWeOTTLcQ

 Interesting, I'll have to give it a try, need to get around to relacing rims on this bike so I can sell it. Hasn't been ridden in over a year.
