do you use PS on your PC? and what app do you have on your phone. On android I recently use Snapseed app. It has some nice features.

 @windv: I have an I phone 5 and I'm using the loaded photo app.
On my PC I use Corel software. I have used PS Elements.
I find all software to be similar.
The trick is to understand what the hundreds of different filters actually do and then practice restraint

 Yes, I do sometines, but here is a bit extreme, since it's a filter that I just applied in an app on my phone. When I saw it on a bigger screen, I wasn't quite pleased with the result too. But I don't have much time to work on images recently. And it's too easy to pile up thousands of them , waiting for their time to get uploaded or transformed
