there is a need for it, it is a homemade prototype(although there is nothing homemade about it) bike, the gorilla, that hopefully soon will see the production line. it is fitted with a sealed sturmey archer 8 speed hub at the rear. so I haven't got a changer to adjust the chain tension and lenght. and it isolates the pedaling from the suspension.
basically what it does is allows no chain growth because the BB is coencentric with the pivot. in most designs this means a low pivot (to facilitate comfortably placed pedals), but this chain routing allows a high pivot and comfortable pedals
Why would he buy a 303 in the first place? The point is that he's making this bike himself rather than relying on something that someone else has made. Also, the 303 is nothing like the bike that he's making. Some people make the oddest recommendations, I swear...
because santacruzer1, some people find more joy in making stuff themselves, rather than just being sheep like the rest that buy their shit.
You know how many parts I had to hand machine, alter, or have made for my bike, and heck, I don't even have a home made frame. It's a feeling like no other when you have to put a whole lot of ingenuity into something, and actually get to ride the outcome. After having to dupe the linkage and other parts on my tomac, and seeing this guys work, I have to say, I'm pretty tempted to give a stainless frame a try, especially since I've always had a passion for tig'n stainless (its clean, smooooooth, and BEAUTIFUL to tig weld on.
I'm gonna send ya a pm this weekend biker monkey. Have a few questions for ya. Def inspired
