My Southfork Racing 2008 4X race bike - 08 Charge Blender Titanium with 08 Fox 32 Talas RLC (Fox factory tweaked/valved), full X0, XTR cranks, carbon MRP, Avid Juicey Ultimates, Chris King, etc, etc. Comes in at just over 22lbs.
Cheers for the comments.......it didnt really cost me that much as its my race bike helped with by my sponsors Southfork Racing, but the RRP on it is in the region of £3600+
Which was my spare 4X bike, but I only rode it once or twice so I blinged it up and gave it to T-A for Christmas......looks really nice now, but we will most probs get some new/lighter forks for it soon which will balance it up better.
Cheers man, dont really want to part with it, but it will be a waste keeping it........plus im going to be on a great team with really good, world class team mates and have got an amazing line up of main and co-sponsors so it should push/inspire me to step it up a bit. Hatch
I know that things for 4X, and you need everything thats on there really, but imagine how light it would be without gears, front brake, and a cut down seatpost! Thatd be like 20lbs
Cheers for the comments.........the spec has changed a little since this photo was taken, its now running Chris King ISO hubs front and rear on DtSwiss 5.1's, Controltech Team Issue seat post, Selle Italia 135g Ti/Carbon saddle and Ti bolts pretty much all over it which has taken the complete build rrp to just under £4k
Yeah they are really good mate, I run the 1.9" but to be honest they are a little skinny so best to go for the 2" version (is quite a visible difference in size) or run a 2" up front and a 1.9" rear........also take a look at the Maxxis Crossmark's as they are pretty similar with slightly more tread.
Steerer is only 1/2" off as short as it can go with that stem, no point in 140mm as 160mm are easier to get replacements.
The above is an old picture when it was first built up so it had a few bits that were just stand in's until the correct bits arrived..........its now running a trimmed down/custom SRP full titanium 6 speed cassette, Controltech Team Issue seat post, Selle Italia 135g carbon/ti saddle, 09 Easton Ea70 bars, Chris King ISO hubs on Mavic all mountain rims, Ti bolts all over bringing the weight to sub 22lbs.
Really mate.......maybe you should learn to ride a bit smoother then.
Whos was this Ti Blender you supposedly snapped ???
I know all of the Charge team 4X/DJ riders who are all on Ti Blenders and have been on the same frames for a couple of years now and not one of them have had a problem after racing alot of WC's, DJ comps, etc, etc and to my knowledge there has been no problems with the Ti Blenders or Irons since they were launched.
The price reflects the quality of the build, then condition and the £4000 RRP.
I'm not aiming to back jake (the 15yo in question) up, but he did crack a ti blender at the seat tube somewhere, BUT the owner had ridden with the seat up close to full extension a lot. also that bike is f*ckin sweet!
